Mid-Year Mid-Week Mixer
Our Mid-Year, Mid-Week Check-In is a free community social celebrating the halfway point of 2026 — and everything it took to get here.
Expect free socks, Plan B, and Opill, plus wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, food, music, games, and mid-year vision boarding. This is a space for our community, partner organizations, allies, and anyone connected to our work to gather, connect, and have a genuinely good time.
Pack It Up: Community Volunteer Day
We are packing up and we need your hands! Join us for a morning of rewarding work and good company as we prepare to transition into our next chapter.
Volunteers will help take down and wrap artwork, clean out cabinets and desks, pack miscellaneous items, clear out the store closet, break down the clothing closet, and haul out anything that needs to go. Breakfast and snacks will be provided. Groups, social clubs, and organizations are welcome.

The Dry Pride Party is a community-centered Pride celebration designed to create a fun, affirming, and substance-free space where LGBTQ+ people can connect, build relationships, and celebrate together. We're bringing community members together for an afternoon of connection, activities, and joy while creating space for folks to engage with one another outside of alcohol-centered environments.

Black Queer Book Fair 2026
A joyful celebration of Black queer voices, stories, and creativity. This all-ages, community-centered event welcomes LGBTQIA+ community members, allies, and authors to gather in affirmation and connection. Attendees can explore books that uplift queer narratives and challenge censorship, and enjoy music honoring Black cultural heritage.

Give Them Flowers is an intimate, hands-on floral make-and-take designed to create space for connection, creativity, and collective care.
This gathering invites you to slow down, work with your hands, and create something beautiful alongside community. Whether you come alone or with friends, you’ll leave with a floral arrangement you’ve made yourself—and a moment of shared joy.

A "Stitch 'n Bitch" is a casual get-together when people work on crafts like needlepoint and talk at the same time. We discuss and talk about the forthcoming Drag Ban, also known as Senate Bill 12, while doing hands-on crafts like crocheting, sewing, embroidery, quilting, or other things.
Volunteer Recruitment Info Session – (Virtual)
The Mahogany Project invites community members, professionals, and service-oriented individuals to a virtual information session for recruiting volunteers on Saturday, February 28th via Zoom.
This session will present an overview of The Mahogany Project's mission, vision, and impact. We have annual programs, events, and community-based initiatives. Volunteer roles supporting operations, programming, and direct community care include impact coordination, administrative and operational support, center care and boutique visual assistance, condom and Julie's restocking, and gender-affirming care assistance. There are opportunities to utilize the Company Volunteer Match and employer-sponsored volunteer programs.

Come join us for The Mahogany Project's "Hot Chocolate & Karaoke" on December 12th from 6 PM to 9 PM CST! We’re celebrating the holiday season and the incredible efforts of our volunteers, partners, and community members. It’s a laid-back evening filled with karaoke, fun holiday vibes, and a chance to reflect on all the memories from this past year. Plus, you’ll get to create a unique holiday gift to take home!
We’ll have tasty holiday snacks and drinks; everyone is welcome to join.

BTEW 2025 Transgender Day of Rest
On Transgender Day of Rest, we encourage all Black transgender folks to adopt rest as an expression of self-love and fortitude. Seize this moment to nurture your spirit and honor the tenacity within you. To assist community members in practicing rest, we will provide virtual guided meditation, meditation, and breath-work sessions commencing at 7 PM CST on Zoom.
BTEW 2025 TEA Party & Brunch
The Trans Empowerment & Alliance Party & Awards Brunch serves as a vital fundraiser, channeling resources into initiatives that address the pressing needs of TGNC individuals. The highlight of the event is the awards ceremony, where outstanding Black and POC TGNC Houstonians, as well as allies, are honored for their remarkable contributions to the community. These accolades not only recognize past achievements but also inspire others to become advocates for positive change. The TEA Party fosters upward mobility, allocates resources to essential services, and underscores the importance of community activism, leadership development, and civic engagement within the TGNC community, fostering a brighter future for all.
